What Our Guests Are Saying
- From the moment we were greeted till the time we left, our anniversary getaway was perfect. We used to be in hospitality and know when attention to detail was put into everything at The Blacksmith. The details in our room (and I’m sure in every room) were so thought out. You feel so comfortable because there is a place for everything. Tables, chairs, lights, outlets were in perfect position to unpack and relax. I know we saw cars in the lot and they were full, but we never heard a sound (except the birds) all weekend. That was impressive to us in an Inn that is this old. The delivery of breakfast each morning was excellent. And I must end by saying that I appreciated a mirror over the sink that made me look 10 years younger!
- This was such an excellent place to stay. The hotel is all expertly done in colonial style and very comfortable. We received a lovely breakfast of our choosing delivered to our door. There were daily baked cookies and popcorn available, as well as a variety of beverages stocked in a communal mini fridge. Wow, the gardens are gorgeous while we were there in early June. We walked right down to the beach from the property. It was quiet and wonderful here!
- Gem of a B&B; top notch. Relaxing rooms, each with their private deck and chairs facing the water; quiet Inn with historic, beautiful charm, gardens and decor. Gas fireplace was great for the early cool mornings. Breakfast with homemade muffins delivered right to your door at your own specified time to fit your schedule. Sunday morning Farmer's Market is one block across the street. Everything is walkable from this location; park once and walk to restaurants and shops. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely will recommend and stay at next summer.
- We spent one night at the Blacksmith Inn On the Shore and had a wonderful experience. We were greeted so warmly by the staff in the office and offered complimentary beverages and snacks. Our room was very clean and cozy, and decorated beautifully. Since we visited in the winter, we enjoyed the gas fireplace tremendously. Choosing and receiving the breakfast offered was very straightforward and lovely. We can tell a lot of care and thought goes into the experience that they are providing to guests. Being in Baileys Harbor, we had views of beautiful Lake Michigan and easy access to restaurants and parks. We would 100% come back here again and recommend to others.
- We had the most wonderful stay at Blacksmith Inn On The Shore! From the moment you walk through the red front doors, you will be completely enchanted. To anyone who appreciates country antique/farmhouse style decor this is a must stay; you will be in heaven because simply everything is in that style. The rooms are comfortable and very private, the balconies for every room overlooking the lake are amazing. Breakfast options are delicious and plentiful, delivered right to your door. Amenities are great: kayaks, bikes, movies to borrow, chairs on the beach, snacks and drinks in the lobby. We honestly couldn't think of a single negative, or even comment or suggestion to improve our stay. It was perfect! Thank you!
