No matter which day of the week July 4th falls on, it’s always a celebration in Door County. This year Northern Door has a host of events honoring our independence.
Red, White…
Egg Harbor is entertaining in style this year. Prepare for the main event on the eve of independence day. Sway to the classic and contemporary country sounds of the Modern Day Drifters, and have a bite to eat in Harbor View Park. Claim your space early on the marina break wall for some of Door County’s best fireworks at dusk.
On July 4th, the party continues with the annual 4th of July parade right through town in the early afternoon. The parade is followed by the excitement of the UW-Madison Badger Marching Band, which will reconvene in Harbor View Park to make its famous “5th quarter” performance. If witnessing a performance by this marching band doesn’t stir your patriotism, you’ll at least have a blast. The red-and-white-clad band is known for its high-energy playing and has added crazy antics, including playing on their backs and doing somersaults.

… & Blues
Closer to the Blacksmith Inn are scores of fun activities right in Baileys Harbor. Start the holiday right with a pancake breakfast served at the fire station. Support the Women’s Club by purchasing some fresh strawberries at Strawberry Fest in the Town Hall, then enjoy your berries while you watch the Baileys Harbor parade. Starting near the Ridges Sanctuary nature center, the parade will proceed south through town. Live zydeco, Americana and blues music by Copper Box will get your feet tapping. Later in the evening, enjoy the big sound of the Peninsula Symphonic Band. Tuck in for more fireworks at dusk.
